Repository Policy
AL-IKTISAB: Journal of Islamic Economic Law (P-ISSN 2580-4251 and E-ISSN 2615-661X) is fully committed to expanding the reach of research findings by facilitating authors in distributing their scholarly work digitally. This policy is implemented to enhance the global reputation, accessibility, and significant contribution of every publication within the field of Islamic economic law.
Manuscript Distribution Guidelines (Pre-Publication Phase)
While the article draft is under preparation or undergoing peer-review evaluation, the editorial board permits and encourages authors to share their Pre-print version across various digital platforms. This proactive approach offers several key benefits:
-
Quality Enrichment through Discussion: Publishing early drafts opens opportunities for the academic community to provide critiques and suggestions, helping authors refine their arguments before the formal evaluation is finalized.
-
Accelerated Information Dissemination: New insights regarding Islamic economics can reach the public faster without having to wait for the official periodic publication cycle to complete.
-
Accelerated Citation Footprint: Articles that are recognized by the scientific ecosystem from an early stage have a greater chance of being cited sooner once the official final version is released.
Final Version Archiving Guidelines (Post-Publication Phase)
Once an article has been approved for publication and designated as the Published Version (Version of Record), the right to self-archive the work remains with the author, subject to the following guidelines:
-
Primary Journal Archive: The official final manuscript in PDF format will be permanently hosted and downloadable free of charge through the main portal of AL-IKTISAB.
-
Home Institution Storage: Authors are highly encouraged to deposit the official PDF into their respective university's digital library or database system for institutional academic tracking and long-term data preservation.
-
Personal & Thematic Channels: Authors reserve the right to display the official PDF on personal digital portfolios or faculty profiles, as well as store it in specialized global repositories.
Attribution and Primary Citation Obligations
Whenever authors redistribute the published manuscript on external platforms, they hold the moral and academic responsibility to explicitly acknowledge AL-IKTISAB as the original publisher by:
-
Providing the complete and standard bibliographic identity of the article (including author name, article title, journal name, volume, issue number, and page range).
-
Embedding the active Digital Object Identifier (DOI) link or the live URL pointing directly to the article page on the official AL-IKTISAB website.
Significance of Our Repository Policy for Researchers
-
Academic Reputation Optimization: Distributing articles across multiple open database platforms automatically multiplies readership opportunities and recognition from fellow researchers.
-
Democratization of Access to Knowledge: This policy breaks down financial barriers, allowing Islamic finance practitioners, students, and the general public worldwide to access and utilize research findings at no cost.
-
Support for the Open Science Ecosystem: By providing space for self-archiving, this journal actively participates in building a transparent, accountable academic environment that prioritizes global collaboration.
